Privacy policy

CareerYard helps you find jobs from company career pages, tailor your resume and track applications. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to users in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area.

What we collect

• Account data: your email address and name, and a Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.
• Search profile: the roles, locations, pay, skills and work authorization you tell us, used to match jobs to you.
• Resumes: files you upload and the resume content you edit. We store the original file so you can download it again.
• Application tracker: the jobs you save or apply to and their stages.
• Email updates (only if you turn on inbox tracking): for hiring emails you forward to us, we keep the sender's domain, a short snippet (up to 200 characters), the date, the type of update and the company and role we extracted. We do not keep the full email.
• Payments: handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. We never see your full card details.
• Usage data: pages viewed and features used, to improve the product, only with your consent where the law requires it.

How we use it

To provide the service (matching, alerts, resume tailoring, tracking), to keep accounts secure, to process payments, and to improve CareerYard. Our legal bases in the UK and EEA are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving the service, and your consent for optional analytics.

AI processing

When you ask us to tailor a resume or parse an uploaded resume, the relevant resume and job text is sent to AI model providers (Cloudflare Workers AI and Anthropic) to generate suggestions. They process it on our behalf and may not use it to train their models. Suggestions never add facts that aren't in your resume or profile, and nothing changes until you accept it.

Who we share data with

Service providers that run CareerYard for us: Cloudflare (hosting, database, email), Dodo Payments (payments and tax), Anthropic (AI), Google (sign-in, and Gmail only if you connect it), and our error-monitoring and analytics tools. We don't sell your personal data or share it with employers.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or legal reasons.

Your rights

You can download all your data and delete your account at any time from Settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to correct, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Contact privacy@careeryard.co.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country. Where required, transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Children

CareerYard is not intended for anyone under 16.
